Extreme time zones, finicky internet, expensive phone calls, and the
fact that we live on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean can
sometimes make it a challenge for us to be as intimately involved as we
would like in events back in the States. Advocates are critical members
of our team who represent us and our ministry when it would be a
challenge
for us to do so ourselves. We are so grateful for those people who are
willing to stand by us in this vital role. Would you consider joining
our
advocacy team?
Some ideas that have been done in the past (or are still a current need) include:
- Represent us to your missions committee
- Host a booth at your church’s missions conference
- Help us with furlough logistical details (transportation, lodging)
- Notice when our financial support is low and take an active role in helping us meet our goals
- Help your Sunday School class put together an encouragement package
- Share our prayer requests with your prayer chain
- Consider featuring our ministry in PNG at your women’s/men’s retreat
- Download sermons and/or music and send us a CD/DVD
- Post ours newsletter and prayer updates on your church’s bulletin board
- When we are stateside, set up opportunities for us to share with your church, group, or family
