Because Wycliffe is not a denomination, there is no income outside of
gifts from partners. Everyone, including Wycliffe’s president, is
dependent upon the Lord’s provision through the commitment of regular
gifts, whether by individuals, groups, and churches. Thus, our ability to
remain and work in Papua New Guinea is directly impacted by your
faithfulness in giving—thank you for your support of Bible translation!
How does it work?
Because some translation projects take 20 or more years, instead of
raising the thousands of dollars needed for the entire period, we ask
people to commit to regular giving for however long the Lord leads. Our monthly budget is re-assessed every year to make sure it accurately
reflects our needs.
Regular Expenses
- Ministry and Operational Expenses (13%) This takes care of home and field operational services, such as accounting or administration, as well as relating to partners, printing and communication, language helpers, and technology needs (computer).
- Insurance (11 %) As a Wycliffe member, we must pay both the employer and the employee sides of health, life, and evacuation insurance.
- Taxes and Retirement (23%) Similarly, we pay both sides of retirement, Social Security, and PNG taxes.
- Basic Living Expenses (53%) All other costs fall here, including housing, food, education, tithe, travel, furlough tickets, incidentals, and some ministry needs.
Missions work is costly, but the rewards are eternal. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us or Wycliffe.
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the
Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to
God. 2 Cor. 9:12
